Dermal Fillers

Dermal Fillers for Lines and Wrinkles

One of the most popular ways of treating fine lines and wrinkles is to have dermal filler injections. Restylane is one of the most popular and well tolerated fillers and the preferred filler used by our cosmetic Practice. It is a natural filler that helps to both reverse and arrest the signs of ageing. It fills and smoothes the area to be treated and so reduces troublesome lines and wrinkles. These typically occur because of a breakdown in the body’s natural support layers due to factors such as pollution, over exposure to sun, smoking and natural ageing.

Restylane is injected into the skin, beneath the wrinkle. The beneficial effect of the treatment typically lasts about six months. In order to maintain the benefits top-up treatments are therefore advised on a regular basis.

Dermal fillers are typically used for lines and wrinkles around the mouth, cheeks, and chin areas of the face. Muscle relaxant injections, by contrast, are more commonly used for areas around the eyes and forehead.

Laser treatment, Restylane injections, chemical peels and specialist skin applications can all be highly effective in treating fine lines and wrinkles. Best results are often a result of using some or all of these treatments in combination.

All treatments are carried out by either Dr Piper, who is a Member of the Association of Cosmetic Doctors and has been a GP for over 22 years or one of our fully qualified Practice Nurses or fully trained technicians . All patients receive an initial consultation to both assess suitability for treatment and to discuss the appropriate treatment, the procedure and realistic results.
